PRESS RELEASE – 9th May 2005

The fourth instalment of the popular monthly gig nights, aimed at promoting young and new bands alongside established acts, will take place on Thursday 26th May at the Tap ‘n’ Tin in Chatham. Performing will be:

Our Name Is Legion
Based in south-east London and performing regularly across the capital, Our Name is Legion are gaining a well-deserved following and MM2K are delighted they have agreed to come to Chatham to help us raise funds by headlining this event.

The Ambience
The Ambience were formed in early 2002 in the Medway Towns, originally performing and recording under the name Parker. They describe themselves as melodic, atmospheric guitar-based indie. The Ambience soon started gaining success through radio airplays and were invited to take part in the Temikka Festival in Slovenia in 2004, their performance at which was described as the highlight of the event. More recently the band have been approached and had their music licensed for use by MTV. Since forming they have prolifically written and recorded material for their numerous releases, which have been received extremely well and helped the band gain status on the live circuit. They have also played regularly in London.

Meadow Road
Meadow Road are a four piece indie/rock band from Gravesend, Kent. The band have been playing for three years after forming at school at the age of 13. The band list their influences as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Beatles, Guns 'n' Roses, Stereophonic and Foo Fighters but they have their own sound styled a rugged rasp on the vocals. Meadow Road have recently been in the recording studio making their first CD, titled 'History in the making', which has 5 original tracks and 1 cover.

Doors to the third floor will open at 8.30pm and all the proceeds from the £2 entry fee will go to registered music charity MM2K.
